Virtual WWE started out life as Virtual WWF in early 2002. Originally conceived as a small E-Fed for WAP enabled cellular devices, VWWE has grown into one of the most successful and best E-Feds of all time.
VWWF was born on February 15th 2002 on a server known as Hiugo. Competing on WAP against the three biggest E-Feds of the time, FWC, WWW and EHW, VWWF started slowly to raise its profile, signing several of FWC's (the then number one promotion) top stars, but not before several attacks by FWC upon VWWF. As VWWF quickly rose into the number two position, WWW folding weeks after the launch, the Monday Night Wars begun. One of VWWF's first actions however was not toward FWC, but itself, moving the server to a hybrid of Tagtag and myWAP and changing the name to VWWE to reflect changes within World Wrestling Entertainment.
With WAP's two flagship shows, Raw is War and Gore is War pitted against each other there could only be one winner - VWWE. Despite underhand tactics and smear campaigns by FWC, VWWE won the war. Prominent FWC stars such as Sphere, Doomsday, Tommy Dreamer and Suppz all jumped ship in the process; VWWE's superior product, excellent chatroom and love for the business shining through the shambles that was FWC, which officially folded at the end of May.
The major angle of the period was of course the infamous nWo invasion, an angle that many even today call the greatest the community has ever seen. The angle pitted five of the top heels against five of the top faces and was a masterstroke, all participants becoming highly involved both in promos and the chat, the angle taking over the company just as it had in WCW in 1996/1997. The intensity generated is another of the primary causes of the downfall of FWC.
In the autumn of 2002 VWWE successfully split its brands to form Raw and SmackDown as separate entities, Steve aka Sphere wrote SmackDown! while Raw was as ever written by Mick, this status remained in place until 2004 when Steve was relieved of his post following a lengthy absence.
On July 4th 2003 VWWE moved to its own website, VWWE.com. Ran by Sam, VWWE was now independent of other people and other servers, a first for WAP E-Feds. VWWE.com ensured VWWE's dominance for many years to come.
Later that year however, myWAP began to suffer from a lot of errors, putting the chatroom and certain sections of the site still on myWAP off-line for lengthy periods, this coupled with new charges introduced by the o2 network caused VWWE to have a sharp downturn in quality and membership, the company even closing for a short period in 2004.
On February 9th 2004 VWWE however launched its own chatroom, later growing into a small community site of its own under the alias Waptopia.
VWWE was still going realitivly strong but nowhere near as popular as its height during the Monday Night Wars and early 2003. This was soon to change however when in June 2006 (12th) VWWE launched its website, VWWE.com on the web, a whole wealth of opportunity and innovation now open. A few months later VWWE announced that Doomsday aka Nik would be taking up the SmackDown mantle.
In November of the same year VWWE.com 2.0 was launched and has thus far been a massive success.
VWWE's growth from Hiugo in early 2002 to this site you are on now has been one of greatest in the history of E-Feds, and WAP in general. VWWE's place in history and legacy is assured and we are confident that the company will continue to grow and expand as the years pass.
