'6 men, only one can take that briefcase, who's it gonna be?' we hear J.R ask as we see shots from SummerSlam earlier this year, Cena battling away with Hunter before climbing the ladder and unhooking the briefcase suspended above the ring.
'CENA! CENA! JOHN CENA CAN NOW CALL HIMSELF MISTER MONEY IN THE BANK' blares J.R as John Cena celebrates in the aisle.
'RKO! RKO!' we hear our play by play man cry soon after, Randy Orton holding his WWE Title aloft.
'F-U, WHA-THAT'S IT, IT'S OVER!' it's J.R roaring again as Cena plants Michael Shane at No Mercy to win back his briefcase.
'RKO TO NIGHTMARE, GODDAMMIT' he spits this time, as Orton holds the belt aloft once more, at the Royal Rumble. The picture then switches to one with a caption reading 'Two weeks ago', we see it's RAW, Cena and Hogan standing tall over Mr. McMahon and Randy Orton.
'I'M CASHING IN THE BRIEFCASE....AT WRESTLEMANIA 24!' we hear Cena cry, the speed of the video quickening as we see Cena plant DD with the F-U, Orton scoring on HHH with the RKO, then Cena making Michael Shane tap out, Orton kicking Silent Assasain in the head.
'MY NAME IS JOHN CENA-' cries Cena as we see him hit the Five Knuckle Shuffle on The Rock.
'I'M RANDY ORTON-' comes the reponse, Inverted Backbreaker on Hogan.
'AND MY TIME-' goes the challenger, top rope Leg Drop to DD.
'AND THIS ONE MAN DYNASTY-' continues Orton, Powerslam to HHH.
'IS NOW-' Cena finishes, throwing up the bullhorns.
'HAS ONLY JUST BEGUN' are the last words we hear from Orton before we head back to the arena, fading on a split screen of champion and challenger, the crowd popping for the video.
'HEY...........HEY...........HEY(HEY), NOTHING YOU CAN SAY(SAY), NOTHING'S GONNA CHANGE WHAT YOU'VE DONE TO ME(HEY), NOW IT'S TIME TO SHINE(SHINE), I'M GONNA TAKE WHAT'S MINE' are the lyrics from Mercy Drive, the cheers for the video turning into massive heat as Randy Orton strolls onto the stage, smartly attired in a jacket and jeans, LegendKiller T-shirt on as well.
'Ladies and Gentlemen....please welcome.....the WWE Champion, Randy Orton' announces Lillian from the ring, where we see the ring covered in red carpet, a table set up with two chairs, William Regal placing two contracts on the table as we cut back to Orton slowly making his way down the ramp, WWE Title over his shoulder.
'Well here he is folks, the WWE Champion Randy Orton....will this be the last time we see Randy Orton on RAW with that title over his shoulder?' asks Ross as Orton climbs the steps into the ring.
'Not a chance J.R, Randy Orton's ruthless, and I believe he's gonna do whatever it takes to beat John Cena at WrestleMania, he'll end his career, he'll put him on the shelf, Orton doesn't care, as long as he walks out with that WWE Title around his waist' replies King as the champion ascends the turnbuckle, holding his title aloft, flashbulbs exploding all over the arena.
'Certainly we've seen Orton display a cold streak on many occasions before, he's put Shawn Michaels and Silent Assasain, as well as numerous other superstars, legends in most cases, in the hospital, we know that....but can Randy Orton perform on the grandest stage?' goes Ross as Orton moves over to the table, taking a seat and placing the belt on the surface in front of him.
'Of course he can J.R, he can perform on any stage, look at this, this is confidence right here, that's the look of a champion' claims King as Orton arrogantly rests his feet on the table, Regal looking on. The last strains of Mercy Drive finally fade, to be replaced by the horns and drums, the crowd on their feet.
'BBBBRRAAAABBBBAAADDOOOOOOOO.........YOUR TIME IS UP, MY TIME IS NOW(NOW), YOU CAN'T SEE ME, MY TIME IS NOW(NOW), IT'S THE FRANCHISE AN' I'M SHININ' NOW(NOW, YOU CAN'T SEE ME, MY TIME IS NOW' comes the sounds of 'My Time Is Now', Cena not far behind, exploding through the curtain onto the stage decked out in his retro shirt and cut offs, asking for support from both sides of the arena before moving to the centre, holding up the three fingers then giving the Marine salute.
'And ladies and gentlemen, please welcome the Number One Contender for the WWE Title.....Johhhnnnn Ceeennaaaaa' cries Lilian.
'John Cena has risen through the ranks since winning the Money In The Bank match at SummerSlam, he's beaten some of the very best, he's a man who beat Hulk Hogan at the Royal Rumble in Madison Square Gardens, he's a former Intercontinental Champion, he's the Number One Contender for the WWE Title and bah gawd he is a fighter' blares Ross as Cena comes bounding down the aisle.
'You're right J.R, he's risen through the ranks quickly, too quickly for my liking, he doesn't have enough experiance at the top level, he can't cut it with the best and I think we're gonna see that at WrestleMania' replies King, Ross incredulous.
'No experiance at the top level? King, here is a man who has beaten Hulk Hogan, he's beaten The Rock, he's beaten Doomsday, he's beaten Michael Shane, he beat Forxx last week, he's beaten some of the best this business has to offer-'
'But he hasn't beaten Randy Orton' interjects Lawler as Cena rolls into the ring, giving the fans the bullhorns.
'No, he hasn't, but-' starts Ross.
'And that's why I'm picking Randy Orton to retain at WrestleMania, Cena's beaten some legends, big deal....Orton's killed them' states King, Cena taking the vacant seat at the table as the pop from the crowd begins to die down. Cena's first act is to stare at the WWE Title that's presented across from him, Orton noticing the centrepiece is slightly off-centre, reaching over and casually adjusting it with a look that says 'It's mine, I can do it', both men's eyes meeting, Cena looking away as a small 'Cena' chant begins, Regal soon stopping it.
'Ladies and Gentlemen....at WrestleMania 24, we propose to have one of the biggest main events in this company's history. In one corner, it will be the challenger, John Cena' Regal gestures to the Doctor of Thuganomics to a big pop, 'Against, in the other corner, the defending WWE Champion, Randy Orton' he finishes, gesturing to Orton who smirks, again, massive heat for the Legendkiller.
'Now before you two sign the contracts and make it official, I'm sure we'd all like to hear what you've got to say seeing as we're so close to this momentus event' states Regal, stepping back and handing the microphone to Orton who's risen first, the crowd booing before the champion's even said a word. Orton pauses, waiting for the boos to die down before he starts.
'Y'know.....usually at this point, 6 days before WrestleMania, I'd be standing here, and I'd be nervous, because I knew that I had the biggest match of my career just around corner' he starts, Cena looking on, 'but right now.....that's just not the case' states the champion, sneering as the crowd boo. 'Right now, I look at the WrestleMania card, and I see my name at the top of that list, and I look across from my name.....and I see 'John Cena', and I think to myself.....this isn't the biggest match of my career.....this isn't even the biggest match I've had this month' he continues, big heat for that statement. Orton turns to face Cena, the challenger not moving however.
'Last week John, last week you stood backstage and you ran your mouth about it being your time, about how the older guys in this business should retire, about how they were holding you down, about how you sat and you watched Shawn Michaels give the performance of a lifetime every single night and about how you learned' Orton pauses, another slight smirk creeping across his face. 'Well John....I hope you DID learn something from Shawn Michaels,,,,I hope you learnt how to get accustomed to a hospital bed, I hope you learnt how to stomach hospital food, I hope you learnt how to tell your family that you were put on the shelf...by Randy Orton. Because this Sunday....the same thing's gonna happen to you' he spits, Cena remaining impassive, more heat from the fans, another 'Cena' chant going up.
'You people can chant 'Cena' all you like, but that won't change the fact that he doesn't deserve to be here, you've no business being in the ring with a legend like me, John. You said last week that Forxx was a fraud when he stepped into the ring to face you...at WrestleMania, you'll be the one who's the fraud when you stand across from me in the Main Event, because you're gonna find out first hand that I'll do WHATEVER.....it takes to keep MY WWE Title' goes Orton, the emphasis on the MY evident to all.
'Y'see John, for the past few months, I stood in the shadow of HHH, I stood in the shadow of the Corporation.... but MY time is now, John, it's Randy Orton's time, I look after number one. I'm the one who's making alliances now, guys in that locker room come running to me, not the other way around. John, realise this.....' goes Orton, pausing for effect, which brings more boos.
'You're either with me.....or you're against me....and believe me....it doesn't pay to be against me...just ask Shawn Michaels' he spits, Cena finally rising to his feet, the crowd popping. Orton hands the mic back to William Regal, Cena soon snatching it out of our General Manager's hands. Cena looks out to the crowd, another big 'Cena' chant going up.
'Y'know Randy...you can stand here and act arrogant and say you're not worried about facing me at WrestleMania, I'm fine with that, because it just makes my job a helluva lot easier' he starts, the crowd popping in agreement. 'You say you're not worried about facing me because you don't think I deserve to be here....well I beg to differ Randy, I beat 6 men in a Ladder Match at SummerSlam, I beat Hulk Hogan at the Royal Rumble, I beat 3 other men to win the Intercontinental Title.....I think you should be VERY...afraid of facing me' spits Cena.
'It's people like you Randy that I've had to overcome my whole life, people who don't think I can do it, naysayers, every since I was a little kid, they told me 'you're white, you can't listen to hip hop', when I was in elementary school, they said 'you're too small John, you'll never make it as a wrestler', when I was in OVW, they told me 'you don't have the passion to be WWE Champion'. Well I proved them all wrong, and at WrestleMania.....you're next on that list, when I walk down that aisle, I'll be proving them all wrong, when I get in the ring, I'll be proving them all wrong, when I pin you, I'll be proving them all wrong and when I'm walking out of Orlando with that belt around my waist I'LL BE DAMN SURE PROVING THEM ALL WRONG' goes Cena, passion etched on his face, the crowd with another pop. Cena turns to face the sitting Orton.
'S'like I always say Randy, real recognises real.....and at WrestleMania.....your time is up....'
'And my time.....is now' he finishes, some of the crowd chanting along, huge cheer as Cena hands the microphone back to Regal, taking his seat again, Orton spitting some trash at Cena that we don't hear, Cena replying with some of his own.
'Without further ado, I would like both of you to sign your respective contracts so we can make it official' states Regal, Cena and Orton both obliging, scrawling their signatures, the crowd cheering as the main event does indeed become official. Orton's back to his feet however, taking the mic from Regal, clearly wanting the last word.
'Your time isn't now John...and it won't be for a long time....not while we're living.... in the Age of Orton' he cries, Cena getting to his feet and going nose to nose with the champion, flashbulbs exploding all around the arena as both men exchange heated words.
'Oh wait a minute here, this thing's about to explode' claims Ross as Cena takes off his cap and throws it to the crowd, taking off his shirt and doing the same, Orton throwing aside his title-and suddenly Orton's grabbed the head of Cena, attempting the RKO, Cena's alert, the crowd cheering as he throws Orton off, the champ rebounding off the ropes, Cena scooping him up, flashbulbs exploding again, the challenger thinking F-U, Orton managing to slide down the back, grabbing his WWE Title and scrambling under the bottom rope, the crowd booing.
'What the hell do you think you're doing, attacking the WWE Champion so close to WrestleMania, I've a good mind to-' Regal never finishes, Cena turning and scooping him up onto his shoulders, massive pop from the crowd as Cena simply points to Orton who's retreating up the aisle, Regal planted, F-U to the GM.
'GOOD GOD ALMIGHTY, F-U TO WILLIAM REGAL, F-U TO THE GENERAL MANAGER OF RAW!!' blares Ross as 'My Time Is Now' hits once more to a big pop.
'JOHN CENA HAS SENT A MESSAGE TO THE WWE CHAMPION RANDY ORTON......YOUR TIME IS UP, AND BAH GAWD AT WRESTLEMANIA IT'LL BE MY TIME.....WE'LL SEE YA IN ORLANDO, WE'LL SEE YA THIS SUNDAY, AT WRESTLEMANIA 24'
