December 3, 2008

WWE are hoping that their three hour special will draw significant numbers as "major incidents" will take place at the show (Figure Four)

Randy Orton was said to be very displeased about the voting for Cyber Sunday backstage at the event, ranting about the results for at least 30 minutes backstage during the show and Main Event match (1wrestling.com)

Plans are already forming for 2009 and the pre-WrestleMania 25 build up. One suggestion being mooted is Randy Orton forming a stable with two young stars and one "enforcer" - Evolution 2.0. Early names mooted include Ryan Simmons who WWE plan to give the push of his life soon, Assassin and Primal. (PWInsider)

Plans for WrestleMania 25 still include Steve Austin at this point, expect Steve Austin vs John Cena to be the plan this coming spring (Wrestling Observer Radio)

Expect Goldberg to return to WWE as soon as this Monday (Figure Four)

Expect AKM and R-Truth to begin to receive a push. Vince McMahon has made the tag division a priority and now both members have begun to settle down backstage McMahon believes they can form an interesting partnership, possibly in the vain of the Gangstas or even Public Enemy (Wrestling Observer Newsletter)

Expect Rey Mysterio to make some kind of return to WWE on Monday after a brief hiatus to heal a number of minor injuries, Rey is expected to return as a face and receive a good push my management who've always been high on the San Diego native (Wrestling Observer Newsletter)

There has been some talk of forming a stable with John Morrison, The Miz and Melina as "Triple M", the successor to MNM. There has been some heat between Miz and Morrison, and just about everybody else, this past week so its up in the air whether this will actually take place (Rajah)

TNA Champion Michael Shane has been at it again, this time causing unnecessary controversy in the United Kingdom after appearing on the BBC Radio 1 breakfast show in the country with Nathan James .  After a long monologue from Nathan James on TNA iMPACT! and why UK listeners should watch the show, Shane proceeded to "liven things up" by apparently exposing himself to Chris Moyles. Tabloid "The Daily Mail" proclaimed the show an "outrage against all decency", "Filth" and "Just not cricket" and called for the lynching of Shane. After discovering he'd already left the country, they called for TNA iMPACT! to be removed from the air. To little effect (PWTorch)

On a related note, Michael Shane's new theme song will be The All American Rejects - Give You Hell. Shane had expressed a desire to move away from the hip-hop trappings of his later WWE run back to the "rockstar" stylings of his MNM and initial singles run. Rumors that TNA bookers rejected Shane's initial choice of Tokio Hotel's Ready Set Go are unfounded (WrestleZone)
