Paul Heyman has resigned as lead writer of SmackDown, citing the need to spend more time with his family. WWE are said to not be actively seeking a replacement (Figure 4)
In more bad news for SmackDown, MyNetworkTV has pulled out of the deal to move the show there, leaving the show floundering without a home. No network has yet expressed and interest and there's some concern on the brand that the show many scrapped again (Figure 4)
The credit crunch is said to have hit WWE hard, this past weeks stock market losses have hit WWE and Vince McMahon in the pocket causing many to fear for their jobs. Expect talent cuts soon (Wrestling Observer Radio)
Rhyno has been at Titan Towers twice this week meeting with Vince McMahon, there's no word on what they were discussing (WrestleZone.com)
In related news, FWC Wrestling inc, the company behind FWC's original run has called a press conference for Sunday, there is no word on what it may concern (WrestleZone.com)
Put this one down to a long shot - Ted Turner is rumored heavily to have met with Eric Bischoff at his home in Atlanta this past Friday while Turner media has filed for a U.S trademark on the initials "WWC" (Wrestling Observer)
Michael Shane is said to be sporting a new look at house shows this past week, his hair now shoulder length and blonde. He also has a new theme - Tokio Hotel's Ready, Set, Go!, which drew crowd heat in itself (PWinsider.com)
Backstage sources indicate that there is further heat between several backstage "cliques". It's been noticed that Forxx, Goldberg, Nathan James, Scorpio and possibly Suffering have formed a common bond, something that the ever popular William Regal has not found to his liking, with Regal falling in with Jeff Hardy, John Cena, the Undertaker and Shawn Michaels.
