McMahon Invitational Tag Tournament - Cody Rhodes and Ted Dibiase vs The Rock and a mystery partner
"...and we're getting things right underway with our first match up - Cody Rhodes and Ted Dibiase taking on The Rock and who knows who... it's a mystery partner!" exclaims Cole with that typically fake enthusiasm, Lillian announcing the rules of the tournament
"Well Michael this looks like its gunna be a hell of a tournament, Mr McMahon announcing it this past week on WWE.com, eight teams vying for those World Tag Team Championships vacated by Shawn Michaels and D-Generation, the two finalists facing off at The Royal Rumble" goes King
"PRICELESS.... OHHH BABY I'M PRICELESS" blares from the speakers as we see Cody and Ted stroll arrogantly onto stage, both men with the up most confidence in their abilities and chances here tonight it would seem
"Cody Rhodes the son of the legendary Dusty Rhode of course King, an icon we had the honor of seeing in action last year at the Survivor Series" recaps Cole, Cody and Ted headed down the aisle, both in black trunks
"Well both these guys have legendary fathers, Cody the son of Dusty Rhodes, but you know who Ted Dibiase is the son of right Michael?"
Cole doesn't sense the heavy sarcasm in Kings voice and answers if it were a legitimate question
"Well he's the son of the Million Dollar Man King, ALSO called Ted Dibiase"
Dibiase and Rhodes climb the steps and into the ring, no playing to the crowd, both headed to their corner
"Ted Dibiase of course a former World Tag Team Champion already, being given that belt by his father alongside Ryan Simmons after he BOUGHT the belts at WrestleMania 24 from Samoa Joe and Umaga, the short lived Sons of Samoa"
Priceless cuts and the crowd are back on their feet
"IF YA SMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMELLLLLLLLL.... WHAT THE ROCK... IS... COOKIN"
The cheers are loud and strong, the Rocks brief heel turn forgotten after his beating at the hands of Randy Orton last week. The Great one, looking skinnier than usual, hair short and back with that goatee bounds onto stage, the huge Samoan tattoo on his cheat and upper arm striking as he heads down the aisle
"So who'd you think Rocky's partner is Michael?" asks Lawler, the Rocky looking around furtively, smelling electricity in the air possibly
"Well there's any number of possibilities King, WWE Hall of Famer Dr.S tagged with The Rock for a long time as The Rock and Doc Connection..."
"And Mick Foley... the ORIGINAL Connection - Rock and Sock haha" laughs Lawler, remembering, Lillian making the announcement for the Great One
"And you know King, ALL these guys are second or third generation wrestlers. Ted Dibiase and Cody Rhodes the sons of the Million Dollar Man and Dusty Rhodes.. but lets not forget that The Rock is the son of Rocky Johnson and GRANDSON of the High Chief Peter Maivia... maybe we'll see another Superstar like that, a second or third generation wrestler"
"Well one things for sure... it WON'T be Randy Orton" goes Lawler, Rocky bounding up the steps and along the apron to climb the turnbuckles, throwing back his arm as he puts his nose in the air
"Well anything can happen in the WWE King but I think you're right that isn't going to be one" retorts Cole as Rocky steps down inside the ring and marches across it, headed to the opposite set of turnbuckles, climbing again before Electrifying cuts out and the Peoples Champion steps down, pacing back and forth in his corner, water and sweat already on his brow as he paces back and forth awaiting his partner.....
And waiting.....
And still waiting... the crowd on edge as there's nothing but silence.... waiting for the speakers to burst to life..... and they do, a screech of tires and thud of metal as the strains of "Wreck" burst out, the roof coming off the building as Mick Foley's theme bursts out
"ARE YOU KIDDING ME????" cries Cole, the noise deafening as the camera sweeps the crowd, every fan on their feet, the figure of Mick Foley ambling onto stage with a toothless grin behind the familiar unkempt beard. Foley, in tradition red flannel shirt and Mankind T-Shirt grins as he puts his arm aloft, Cody Rhodes and Ted Dibiase in shock as Rocky flashes that brilliant white smile, loving the reaction for the WWE Hall of Famer as much as Mick himself
"IT'S FOLEY... MICK FOLEY IS BACK IN THE WWE" Cole adds
"What a way to kick off Raw!!!!" squeals King, Foley strolling down the aisle and slapping hand son either side of it
"I may have suggested it... but i never thought we'd see is.... it's really him!!" cries Lawler, Lillian making the announcement once more, barely audible. Foley rolls under the bottom rope into the ring and to a massive pop embraces The Rock
"Are we really gunna see this Michael??? Cody Rhodes and Ted Dibiase versus The Rock and Sock Connection?!?!"
Lawler seems in genuine shock at the prospect, Cole pausing for a second
"Well.… it looks like it... what a match... and what a daunting prospect for the rookies Cody Rhodes and Ted Dibiase, still both in their rookie year, first nights back on Raw and they're facing one of the greatest tag teams of all time - The Rock and Sock Connection"
Rock and Foley move away from each other, about to take their corner with flashbulbs going off all around the building.... but suddenly Cody and Ted explode, both men having seen enough and trying to catch their illustrious opponents off guard. Right hands, right hands, the crowd electric, pumped up from Foley's return... and Mick is getting the better of Cody, Dibiase beating Rocky back to a corner... but Rock spins him - Right hands, again and again, Foley beating Rhodes across the ring, Cody in one corner, Ted in the other. The Rock and Sock Connection grab the arms, here's the whip to send Rhodes and Dibiase charging toward each other - meeting of the mind, both men staggering around... Clothesline by Foley - Clothesline by The Rock. The Referee Charles Robinson has seen enough and gets in front of the Peoples Champion as he tries to follow up, demeaning he exits. Meanwhile Cody Rhodes is trying to get to his feet, Foley stood over him - Right hand, Right hand, over and over against the turnbuckles, pistoning hands... and the crowd roar as he breaks away and makes the double gun salute. Foley pulls Rhodes to his feet, grabs the arm for the whip... reversed and the son of the American Dream Dusty Rhodes sends Foley into the corner. Cody charges... elbow up by Mick, staggers... Right Hand... Right hand... Foley beating Cody back across the ring to the turnbuckles he started in... more blows, again, again, Mick pounding the young Superstar. Foley backs up, Ted Dibiase breaching over the ropes to tag himself in... and in he charges... into an Elbow to the skull, neither man about to cope with the returning former WWE Champion is seems. Dibiase is struggling up, looking a little winded as Foley grabs his head and walks him toward The Rock in the corner... slams the head into the top turnbuckle - there's the tag to The Great One, a big roar going up. Right hand - Right hand, over and over, those typical Rocky rights, fast paced and beating Ted back to the corner. Michael Cole starts to mention their illustrious fathers, speculating that Rocky Johnson probably faced Ted Dibiase snr at some point before Rock shoves Jnr into the ropes and grabs the arm... Irish Whip, Dibiase running.. rebounding, he ducks the Clothesline and comes off the other side - Back Elbow by The Rock. Dibiase seems to be running on adrenaline as he staggers up, looking dazed and stumbling into the Peoples Champions right hand again, unable to mount any offense so far against the surprise Rock and Sock reunion. Rocky grabs the arm and shoves Dibiase into the ropes, grabs the arm.. here's the whip - no, reversed, Rock across the ring... and Ted scores with the Clothesline on the rebound, finally getting some time to regain his wind as he stares up at the lights. He wastes less time than maybe expected however, looking up... and tagging Cody Rhodes in. Rhodes enters and goes instantly to the rising Rocky, grabbing the head... but the Great One surprises him, sweeping aside the arms as Cody tries to grab him - Right hand... Right hand... Right hand, into the ropes, grabs the arm - Whip, reversed into the short arm, Rock pulled toward Cody - Gut Kick... Rhodes back pedals, off the ropes and charging, tossed up onto the shoulders by Rocky...
"SAMOAN DROP... BIG TIME IMPACT BY THE ROCK"
Rocky's instantly across, hooks the near leg - One... Two... Theno, near fall. Rock takes a moment to stand, allowing his opponent up as well.. and hitting that Right hand against the ropes once more
ROCKY.. ROCKY... ROCKY... chant the fans, Michael Cole pointing out we havent heard that in a while, the Great One seemingly re-energized by the return of his friend here tonight. Rock flashes that huge white grin, liking the reaction as he aims a blow and hits Cody, almost toying with him as he picks the 2nd generation star off. Rock grabs the arm, the whip quickly reversed and Cody sends the former Intercontinental Champion running into the ropes.... where Ted Dibiase gets his knee up on the apron - knee to the back of the Rock. The boos sound out, Ted holding his hands up to plead his innocence but the damage is done.... NO, Rocky spins - Right hand to Ted Dibiase on the apron, knocking him off and down to the floor at the end of the aisle. The distraction is enough however, Rocky tuning back to Cody Rhodes who's waiting... Dropkick. Cody stands and turns toward Foley, arrogantly giving him the double gun salute, Cole calling it nothing but mockery as Ted turns away and hits a blow down onto the rising Great One... again... another, Rocky up and staggering away to the corner, the crowd quietening slightly as the heels take command in this contest. Cody grabs the arm.. Irish Whip... and Rocky's sent into the opposite corner, Cody waiting too long and allowing the Great One to explode out looking for the Forearm - ducked, Cody around and behind, Rocky spins, Cody looks for the Gut Kick - caught, Cody's spun - Right hand.. Right hand.. a third, into the ropes, the arm is grabbed, Irish Whip, reversed... reversed back into he short arm, Gut Kick by The Rock, grabs the head - Rock DDT, trademark. He's over, grabs the leg - One... Two.. ThrNO, kick out by Cody Rhodes. Ted Dibiase is in, leaping at the duo in a ate attempt to break it up, no taking any chances... and Rock leaps aside off Cody at the last second - Dibiase elbow drops his own partner by accident, the crowd loving every second. Rocks on his feet, Dibiase up as well in shock... Rock has the head... and tosses Ted clean over the top rope to the outside. Rocky turns back to Cody, the son of Dusty staggering up... around... Rock pounces, arm over, leaps...
"ROCK BOTTOM, ROCK BOTTOM..."

"WHA..." stutters Cole, the jeers deafening as Dibiase does the only thing he possibly can to save the match, grabbing the legs of the Referee and pulling him out under the bottom rope. The boos soon turn back to cheers as Foley races around as best a man of his frame can do - Right hand to Ted, again, again, furious fists sending him staggering backward, Robinson trying to get between the two and restore some kind of order. The interference allows Dibiase to get away, Robinson reading Foley the riot act at ringside. The intelligent Ted sees the opportunity and quickly races around toward the timekeeper, scooping up the ring bell and sliding into the ring as both The Rock and his own partner get to their feet.... THUDONK, Dibiase smashes the bell into the skull of the Rock, Rocky out like a light. The jeers are deafening as Ted quickly exits, Cody crawling across and grabbing the leg. The Referee conveniently sees the pin, having not seen the assault... he's in under the ropes, makes the count

"SON OF A BITCH... HE ROCK AND SOCK CONNECTION HAVE BEEN ROBBED ON THEIR RETURN TO RAW" cries Cole as Cody Rhodes and Ted Dibiase make their hasty exit, not wanting anything more of The Rock and Mick Foley, Priceless blaring in the background
"Well Priceless are high tailing it outta here Michaela and against a pissed off Rock and Sock... i don't blame them" goes Lawler as the dejected Foley enters the ring and offers Rocky a hand up, the crowd cheering as they momentarily embrace, no hard feelings
"Ted Dibiase and Cody Rhodes advance to the semi-finals next week, they'll face either John Morrison and Joey Nebraska or the Undertaker and Kane... but King... just how great is it to see Mick Foley back in WWE and back on Raw?" Michael Cole asks as Priceless' theme cuts and is replaced by Wreck, Foley's theme blasting
"No doubt Michael.. but lemme tell ya.. i think we'll be seeing a lot more of Mick in the coming weeks.. this is just the beginning" Lawler finishes as we get another shot of The Rock and Sock Connection and the retreating Priceless as we fade
