As we return from commercials we go straight down the King and Michael Cole at ringside

"We're back with ya on the USA Network and King... we'll be live two Sundays from now with our first Pay Per View of 2009 - the Royal Rumble"

As Cole speaks we see the relevant graphic, seeing the only announced match - the Rumble itself, all thirty participants listed

"Well you know Michael, this is one of the biggest shows of the year... and the biggest matches, the winner of the Royal Rumble going onto WrestleMania to challenge for the WWE Championship"

"Well we know who one of those competitors won't be King - Shawn Michaels. Shawn unable to persuade Mr McMahon last week that he deserved to be rehired and King... as we understand it, he's been hit hard by the recent economic crisis"

King looks grieved

"Well... i think we all have Michael but you know Shawn, he's always been free with his money... in the 90s it was parties and women every night, since he became a Christian.. every good cause under the sun. The bank is empty, losing his job ended any hope for him"

As King speaks we get a brief replay of last weeks events, McMahon roaring "YOU'RE FIIIIIRRRRED" at Shawn with ill disguised pleasure, Shawn walking away

"Shawn Michaels left last week a broken man, no job, no money.. desperate times for the man they once called the Showstopper and The Icon"

With that the voice of our play-by-play announcer trails off as we fade to the parking lot...
