SummerSlam etc (11.21.03)

A SummerSlam report is up on the main menu. Feedback will be appriciated.
Current plan is for us to do All the shows we are behind in that style at the frequency of three Raw and three SmackDown a week. The next card will go up stright after the results giving you twenty four hours guess.
The new Raw card is about to be put up in the usual place so guess today, for this one time i´ll use summerslam guesses for anybody who misses out. I´m also considering not featuring people who dont guess on the show, decision on that soon.

SummerSlam canÊ´t go up because Sam hasnÊ´t got the disk, iÊ´m going to write a report to explain what went down in the same style as what Steve did, this will definatly be up either very late today or tomorrow. When Sam gets the disk iÊ´ll finish SummerSlam and release it as a special edition. TheyÊ´ll be a second statement on shows later but iÊ´m hoping its going to be very positive. Firstly thanks for all your ideas in the guestbook (except one, you, and i, know who you are). I shall meet with the SmackDown writing team today and bring you the decision tomorrow. Secondly, there is much questioning over when SummerSlam is up, this i cannot say for the simple reason Sam hasn´t told me whether he has Steve´s disk yet. Would people accept a quick report like Steve did for the last two SmackDowns for now and them i´ll release a ´directors cut´ so to speak with the complete thing? Leave thoughts in that guestbook
Secondly i´m interested to hear peoples other ideas for vwwe, thoughts on roster size, split, show styles etc, also leave them there

Hmmm (11.16.03)

Over the past two, maybe three months we´ve slipped from being behind schedule to being extremly behind schedule and getting more so by the week. Why is this? One reason alone, both myself and Steve can´t put in the time required to catch up at this time. If things continue as they are then we will slip further and further behind, at current rate i wouldn´t hope to have WrestleMania 20 up by NEXT Christmas. Something must be done, but what? As many will be aware this matter has been discussed in public with Tone, Daz, Rob, Sam etc offering good suggestions as to how we rectify this situation. The idea which seems to have a few votes is this:
. Take a pause, forget doing the pay per views that we´re behind on and start afresh, putting an explanation into SummerSlam to explain it away
This would involve a short break in up producing shows but we could do a special one off show in that time, possibly even a pay per view we haven´t done
Other ideas include very short reports like on the WWE.com site, they could be written in a few days. A complete new relaunch like wCw did? I´ve left a guestbook at the bottom of this page for everybodys ideas, we haven´t totally decided yet and will in with what the majority want. They´ll be a further update tomorrow

We are sad to report that Road Warrior Hawk passed away yesterday in his sleep at the age of just 46.
Hawk found fame in the 1980s teaming with Animal to form the legendary Road Warriors tag team (Legion of Doom in the WWE). The pair won every tag title avalible at that time, noteably AWA, NWA and 2 WWF World Tag Team Titles. Many, myself included, consider The Road Warriors/Legion of doom the greatest tag team of all time and it is with great sadness that this partnership has come to a tragic end.
Another legend has been taken from us.
Our condolances in Hawks friends and family, our thoughts are with them at this time

Stu Hart has passed away at the age of 88.
Stu was a bonafied legend in the wrestling business and many would say Canadas greatest. His training school, the infamous dungeon, was without equal and gave us such guys as Chris Jericho, Chris Benoit, Lance Storm and of course Bret and the late great Owen Hart.
We have lost an icon.
Our thoughts and condolances are with his many friends and family at this time.

SmackDown! update (10.13.03)

Another day, yet more people apply for SmackDown! lol.
This is a kinda no win situation for me, whoever i pick accusations are gunna fly and feelings are gunna be hurt.
I want ppl to realise, 10 applications are in roughly, most of them very talented, very very eager and many personal friends amongst them. Im gunna find it very hard to disapoint those i dont choose but theres no getting around it, i can only pick one.
Maybe those who loose out could take up Heat or Velocity positions. These may be looked on as lesser shows in WWE but they dont have to here. The show can be as good as you write it and with good communication between you and the RAW and SmackDown! writers theres no reason you cant advance storys, make matchs, have top talent, your own show exclusive angles and have title matchs.
If thats not your thing somebody to help write a RAW match or two is always welcome
Something ive always wanted to write personally is Confidential but ive never had the time, maybe that could be your thing?
Magazine writer? Have your own column? Something else like Scott did with ShopZone?
Im really pleased with the eagerness that people are showing, its something i havent seen in a while. Itd be a great shame to waste it. Dont be put down or disapointed if u dont get sd, theres plenty more for u to do and id be honored to have such ppl working here

The end of an era (10.09.03)

Coming stright to the point, Steve, SmackDown! writer, has resigned. This is due to the fact that he feels he can no longer produce SmackDown! to his own high standards. VWWE parts with him on the best terms and we wish him all the best.
This not only brings to a close an era of the highest creative standards in VWWE but leaves a gaping void right at the top of E-Feds. Although this is a terrific personal, business and creative loss, both myself and Sam are commited to taking VWWE forward to new places as we have many times in the past. As a fantastic era closes we hope a fantastic new one may be about to start

Wanted: SmackDown! writer (10.09.03)

So what happens next? Steve will be staying on to finish SummerSlam and then a decision will be made. A few ideas that have been thrown up are to carry on as a single brand (RAW) and find a replacement. I favor the latter.
The position of SmackDown! writer is in my opinion one of the two top writing jobs in feds and weÊ´ll take some time to find a sutible replacement. Everybody is welcome to apply, youÊ´ll be expected to produce at least 3 shows a month and a PPV as per WWE (including the British PPVs), you take your own guesses except at joint PPVs, you create your own angles except those that we already have in place. All applicants will be considered but you must be able to show us you can write to an acceptable standard and we´d prefer you not to have writing commitments in other feds. Please apply below

No it isnt, and it wont be up today either. Im going to tell u exactly why, and exactly what we intend to do about it.
For a start myWAP is a **** but thats just a start. Since WrestleMania VWWE has again raised the bar, people now expect that quality every show. Judgment Day contains matchs that are longer than last years whole PPVs, 25+ page match, countless segments, in short they are too long to write in a week. There has to be a complete overhaul of the whole VWWE, not just the site and it starts today
The first thing is the shows, they are too long. What would have been outstanding just 6 months ago is now average.
Shows and PPVs will be shorter. If all participants in a match dont guess, im not even bothering writing it.
This change will be hard but its a nesscity, and rest assured the ammount of PPV classic matchs will not stop.
The myWAP problem is solved. If its down i will E-Mail my segments to Sam who will cut and paste it all when myWAP comes back
Roster? Too big. There are several inactive members of VWWE who need to go. Allow me to apologise to Steve in advance if this mucks up storys
On a seperate note i want to announce the new VWWE management team as me, Sam and Steve. I hope this may help things run smoother.
I am currently finishing Judgment Day to our long matchs style but as soon as its done u can expect RAW up quick
I know what many ppl will think, im just giving hollow promises. Well im giving a set date for SummerSlam, 31st August, it will without a shadow of doubt be up. Thanks to Sam, we had a long meeting to discuss it all and it will work if its given a chance

Jazz retains womens title over trish - cant see a trish win tonight, gail kim will probably show up
Tag team titles: La resistance defeat Rvd and kane - kane turns on rvd
Goldberg defeats Y2J - pretty obvious, watch those kicks to the head Chris
Intercontinental title: Booker T defeats Christian - homefield advantage
Austin defeats Bischoff in the redneck triathalon - keyword ´redneck´
Flair defeats HBK: could go either way this one though and may depend on whats going to happen in the main event
Steiner defeats Test - if the story goes the way it looks to be going, a victory for grandpoppa pump is almost certain
